hi i keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again and nobody among my family or my friends is satisfied with my behavior and I’m starting to worry down to my anxiety-ridden core about what life is going to be like when nobody can tolerate my bullshit anymore and life becomes lonelier and lonelier…. I need to make changes I need to break habits I need to get my entire life together if my life isn’t together by the end of this week then I’m going to have to take more Exhaustive measures…
“My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.
Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established.“
[Qur’ān | 14:40-41]
Everyday is a gift from Allah. A chance to repent, a chance to do more good deeds, a chance that Allah gives us so we can get closer to Him.
Don’t let your sins be a reason that you distance yourself from Him.
Repent and turn your heart to Him and know that the One who created all this beauty can never leave you to your self.
So what does our deen (religion) want? In a nutshell, what Allah wants from us is to constantly try to get better. Not to become perfect, but to get better. Get better than what? Get better than who? Get better than yourself from yesterday.
We just have to constantly try to improve. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if we’re talking about ourselves as teachers, da’ies (preachers and advocates), worshipers, as Muslims in any capacity — all our deen wants is constant effort to improve.
If we internalize that, then it gives us many benefits. One of the most important benefits of that realization is, we will never be satisfied with where we are.
”أخلاقك تهمني أكثر من جمالك
Your manners interest me more than your beauty.
